Mr. Ram Prasad Shrestha (Ram Shrestha) was  born in 1966 at Ason tole in Kathmandu, Nepal. He  is the son of late Mr. Shiva Prasad Shrestha & late Mrs. Laxmi Shrestha who was brought up in the musical Environment from his childhood. His father was great harmonium player & often used to performrd at Royel Palace at that time.
 
Mr. Shrestha completed his schooling from Darbar High School, Rani Pokhari Kathmandu & college from Public Youth Campus, Dhobidhara Kathmandu. In college time he used to play foot ball and was a goalkeeper from R.C.D Club.
 
At the age of 16 he started his singing career as a professional artist at Hotel D'la Annapurna (5TH Jan 1984 to 18 Aug. 1993) likewise he has also preformed at Anna Casino, Casino Everest, Hotel Yak & Yeti .
 
Mr.Shrestha has a god gifted vioce who had passed voice test from Radio Nepal in 1986, at that time, Radio Nepal was the  only one broadcasting station in Nepal. Since then he started recording songs for radio and  Nepali films. Radio Nepal used to play his songs In Nepal and In Newari language,Time to time. The first FM station Established by radio Nepal was Radio Nepal FM Kathmandu, where Mr. Shrestha given his vocal for 10, 15 English jingles like “Radio Nepal F.M.100”   "Dabali"it mean live concert where Mr. Shrestha’s performance are in western flavor of pop songs in English and Nepali. His fabulous Preferences on the stage make audience more excited and enjoyable. Mr. Ram shrestha started recognizing as versatile Pop singer by singing, composing Nepali, Newari, Hindi, English, Japanese, some Spanish and some Italian songs.
 
His voice contributed in Nepali film industries been since tow decays. The Name of the musical band   "Ram Shrestha and Himalayan Rockers" is one of well known musical bands in Nepal which was formed by Mr. sheathe where he is the band leader plus bass guitarist and main vocalist .

He has travelled almost all major cities of Nepal as a pop singer for gigs and shows, such as, Shikhar Saanjh ,Miss Koshi Contest, Arun Thapa Saajh, from Mechi to Mahakali.He had given live concert almost all over the country so many times, also in India ,Hong Kong, and Tibet China/USA as well.
 
A simple character, and helpful person, Mr.shrestha,s crazy national fans and international fans are from different parts of Nepal, and out of countries too. He used to presented himself as an artist in many musical programmed and coordinating  in all kinds of exhibition, which organized by  well known organization of Nepal.
 
he is a very good composer ,who has composed many songs, some of them are "see you on Sunday" ,"motor cycle ma" "kina gayou lahure sanga sarar", oh reshmi,are the most hit songs.
 
Mr. Shrestha has launched his Album (CDs and Audio)"see you on sunday" and collection albums are - "Prem ya Nasha","Preet Bina" ,"wave collections", "Ishara", the Rhythem,"two in one" , his music videos are see you on sunday, motor cycle ma,"Harapal", "chaita ma aayohuri, videos in Newari etcetera, we can see from many TV Channels too. There are many filmy songs we can hear from Radios, Privet FM stations.
